It was clear from the beginning that no matter how hard the others tried, Team DC and Team Advan were unstoppable. NCRC started off strong in third but racing was tight for the first 40 minutes. Gaps began to widen shortly thereafter as teams came in to pit lane for battery and driver changes. Most teams managed to avoid any major breakages but Team Chaos was plagued with them had nothing but trouble throughout the race. Due to strong driving they still managed a respectable 5th place finish. From our persepective it will take more planning to improve our performance. Putting together the RM chassis for the SC430 body 1 hour before start time didn't help. As you can imagaine better batteries are even more importatn in race of this nature. Many top teams brougth the goods and it showed in fewer pits and faster cars. In the end a good time was had by all with a big mix of abilities with a rookie team and some newcomers from VA (Team Road Kill). Because of this I don't see any reason why we won't have another next year and hope to be able to grow it and if the interest is there make it a multi-day event. The paint jobs were fantastic and I really think the stock approach worked and looked great. Although there were some lap counting issues overall we are confident that the 1-4th places were reliable. Everyone managed to run at least a few <2s laps and an equivalent number of 20s+ laps (missed). My fault for not double-checking the min lap time setting after reinstalling CoreSpeed software (Thank You David!!). ![]() Team Rosters: Team Advan - M. Ward, J. Hillmann, R. Many thanks to MiniZRacer and Ray Curtis for organzing and sponsoring the event with the hand out equipment. Special thanks to Bowles Fluidics Corp for giving us this great space to use. More pictures and "Best In Show" contest can be found on the GTG blog thread (DC/VA Racing) at MiniZRacer. Since many of us at NCRC race 1/10th scale during the summer we don't get to see many of you reguarly. It is a great group to race with and we look forward to hosting all of you once again at our ALS Charity Race this October (stay tuned on this webpage and MiniZRacer blogs).
