![]() Chateau Scares Them Away and Adams Takes Two in a Row The second week at the Chateau had another bleak showing during qualifying. A very thin field allowed from some clean racing and practically gave Dimeler the pole position in the XMOD class. Hester and Barnes were back and forth with Hester finally taking the pole by less than 5 seconds. Morrison and Dresser went head to head with the F50 winning. "I still can't believe the power these things have." Commented Dresser on his Enzo. "My car is manageable but there is a little under steer that needs to be taken out for me to really be confident." The head to head competition between Adams and Dimeler was a sight to see. Trading the lead back and forth to the very last lap before Adams got away for his second in a row this season. "He is on fire. His car is fast and he is driving well." Said Grenier. The Mini-Z Stock was a similar story between the Ford of Mike Schaub and the Ferrari of Morrison. Schaub dominated but lapped traffic spelled his demise and he fell to second in the last third of the race. "I couldn't recovery. Today I was unlucky." Said Schaub. Arndt and Perry were both in the mix for third and forth places with the Enzo taking the final spot in the top three. Still struggling with traction, Dresser tried every trick in the book but couldn't get the car to hook up. A steering issue mid way through didn't help and he had to pull it into the pits for a quick adjustment, but it was a lost cause. "I admit, I am having some difficulty, but with some more work I am confident that I can come back before the end. Watch this space!" Said Dresser. The Mod class was insane. With blistering speeds the Mod cars ran some smooth lines and were fun to watch. The two front runners came out again but when the Porsche of Reggie Barnes lost his wheel the game was over. "It is so competitive now you don't have any margin for error. You touch the wall and you'll loose a spot. And if you roll a tire, heaven help you, because you'll never be able to come back." Said Barnes. Yutaka was looking good in practice but succumbed to a failure as well three laps in. That left the rest of the racing to Santamarina, Stephenson and Hester, with Hester taking the honors this week. |
