YUTAKA AND DRESSER WIN!

It would not be NCRC racing if we didn't end on an amazing note.

Qualifying ran as usual with Dresser capitalizing on Arndt's absence to take the pole position, but with Ford's breathing down his neck and Grenier taking first in the second heat he knew the last week was not going to be a cake walk.

The true drama was in the second heat for the Pros where there was a little bumping between Barnes and Santamarina resulting in Santamarina throwing his helmet at Barnes' car in the pits after the race had completed.  "Since I am in range to win another championship I know that I have a target on my back, but I didn't expect this type of a hack job.  Reggie is running well enough on his own and the race is really between Yutie (Yutaka) and me."  Said Santamarina.

Luckily this happened in the second heat because Santamarina showed the McLarens that he wasn't going to concede to Yutaka by taking the pole position.

The Mains were buzzing straight from the beginning with Hester looking to beat out the Ferraris and Lambos to get the last spot on the A Main grid.  He did so while setting a new track record, but he had a bigger job in the A Main to keep Santamarina off of Yutaka.

The Rookie Main was awesome to say the least with the Fords jumping to an early lead.  Both Mustangs were on fire with unmatched speed allowing Grenier to lead for the majority of the race and forcing Dresser to dig deep and drive to the best of his ability.  Dimeler was able to add some difficulty to Dresser's run giving Grenier nearly a full lap lead before Dresser broke free and started chasing her down.  "It wasn't easy today.  Erin and Chris are clearly the next contenders for the Rookie class."  Dresser said.  In the end the Acura was able to catch the Grenier driven Ford and narrowly win the final race to cinch the championship.

Their motors were revving and with three McLarens ready to block Santamarina into submission the tension was high.  With the focus on the championship Barnes was able to create a strong lead before people realized he was out front.  "He has always been fast and we were willing to let him win, but we needed to look at the bigger picture and insure that Yutaka placed ahead of Santamarina."  Stated McLaren driver Al Romack.

Before long everyone settled into a groove and Stephenson boiled to the top along with Barnes in tow.  However, the McLarens did the job with Santamarina placing two spots behind Yutaka.  "Those thumb suckers should be happy.  They blocked me, held me up, and even bumped me off the race line to make sure that Yutaka won.  That's okay, I'm happy for him, but next season I know what to look for."  Said Santamarina.  "Frankly, now that Reggie has his car running, I am more concerned about him."

So, congratulations to our new champions Tom Dresser and Yutaka Kuboshima.  Good job you two, you certianly earned it.

Next season starts February 2nd with three classes; Rookie (XMOD), Mini-Z Stock and Mini-Z Mod.  Rules don't change for the old classes and Mini-Z Mod is wide open.  That means you can have AWD, stacked 2x4 FETs, no handicapping, foam or rubber tires, and any body.

There will be a driver's meeting on January 26th at noon at the track where trophies will be handed out and the new rules will be reviewed.  Due to the outdoor season starting soon and the potential of a charity race this second season will be abbreviated with only 8 races (dropping 1).
