Finally some heated racing! We have are full field back on the track and that means more competition.
In the Mod category Barnes is growing his lead over Hester as the white Enzo is stuck in the garage with a broken front suspension from practice earlier in the week. It will be just Barnes and Thompson getting Mod points this week. “I get to drop a race, so I guess this week is the one. I know the racing will be tight with Reggie. He is a good driver, but everyone makes mistakes and sooner or later I will capitalize.” Said Hester on his unfortunate 2nd place position in the championship.
No surprise then as Barnes takes the pole for Mod, but in the Stock category it was a close call between the Lamborghini of Stephenson and Romack’s newly rebuilt McLaren; proving that the finals will be a sharply contested race.
After some tutelage from in-house Pro, Reggie Barnes, rookies were looking much better during qualifying. Paolini, South and Arciaga were all running tighter lines and more consistent lap times, however there is still some room for improvement as Gary “the sandbagger” Stephenson’s car is smoother than ever in Stock. Stephenson still has a commanding lead but Arciaga and Romack are slowly clawing their way closer in points.
NEWS: Reggie Barnes takes 1st place in the Full Throttle Championships B Main this past weekend. Up against a number of nationally ranked pro drivers Reggie pulled an 11th place overall finish narrowly beating a Schumacher driver by fractions of a second. We all know that the seconds don’t matter once the checkered flag drops, it might as well have been minutes. Congrats to him for such a great performance. No doubt the sponsor calls will be poring in.
