 New Track Layout Challenges All.

As always the tight racing is found in the 3rd to 5th spots.  Al Romack has come in to form and is giving Gary Stephenson a run for his money.  Chris Dimeler finally found some traction with new tires and has been slowly moving up in the grid over the past few weeks.

This week was a little different with Reggie Barnes taking a break and using one of his drop points, allowing Hester to take an unchallenged Mod win.  Barnes still holds a strong lead but Hester is likely to get some pole position points in the upcoming weeks to keep it close overall.  Thompson is still enjoying the racing but needs some more track time.  "I have the speed and the ability, I just need the practice to stay competitive.  I can't seem to find that precious time."  Said Thompson

Someone who seemed to have found the groove is Al Romack.  His nemesis has left (Ken Morrison) but he has found a new Huckleberry - Gary Stephenson.  Although Romack is lagging Stephenson in points by a healthy margin his last two performances show that he will be making it difficult for Stephenson.  "With two more weeks here at Moosehead I am really hoping to gain some ground on Gary."  Said Romack.  "However, I know Gary is struggling with differential issues so if he gets that sorted out I am in for some hard races."  Piling on is Bill Lucas in his super fast Diablo.  "A new motor has put Lucas on Gary's bumper and with that our mentor really has his hands full.  He will always surprise you so it would be foolish to count him out so soon."  Commented Romack.

Everyone has really stepped it up.  Dimeler, South, Paolini, and Adams are all finding their way around this technical layout.  Adams was running with his new Lotus and it seemed to find the wall more than normal.  "I think it is a psychological thing.  The Ferrari was doing well, and then he slaps that British racing green frock on his chassis."  Kidded Hester.  "Right, and what type of car does he have in his garage."  Adams checked!!

The team is looking forward to next week's DC Endurance race as NCRC Racing is hosting the event and the layout is... Moosehead.  The roster is Stephenson, Hester, Yutaka and Thompson with Santamarina as an alternate.  3 hours of racing should be fun, lets hope that the front steering uprights hold up.  Check out the blog on www.minizracer.com for more details.
